Sr. Hernán Casañas

A naturalist and conservationist with extensive experience in the field and in executive management. He has been Executive Director of Aves Argentinas — Asociación Ornitológica del Plata (the Argentine Ornithological Association) since 2016 and works as a consultant on biodiversity.

In recent years he has taken part in the creation of several national protected areas, working in partnership with national and international non-governmental organizations, provincial governments, and the national government. He also works in policy management and international financing, mobilizing strategic resources to advance conservation projects.

In the private sector he was a director of Safaris Naturalistas SRL and Seriema Nature Tours, companies specializing in nature tourism at the national and international levels. He has also taught numerous courses and delivered many lectures, and has an extensive record of published papers and reports.
